Meet the Magic Four

In BOLMSH, I officially belong to an unofficial elite circle of interns who share the same 24-hour duty schedules. We call ourselves the magic four for lack of anything to call ourselves. At present, the magic four are: me, gesper, ken and marc.

Who are these people? No, they are not superheroes although they do possess some extraordinary skills. Neither are they dieties for they bleed like any human being does.

Gesper is a certified pharmacist and graduated from the University of San Agustin. Gesper took his medicine proper in the College of Medicine USLS and along with Marc and me, graduated as one of the pioneers of the said college. Currently, Gesp is still single and this is not by choice. He has a bipolar personality and actually a very complicated person. But life is never that simple for anyone, isn't it? A very talented artist, he can draw, dance, web design and most of all sing. There was one time when we tried to push him to audtion for Pinoy Dream Academy but being the Gesper that we know him, he did not take the chance. But Gesper is a great kid and a loyal friend.

Marc is a biology student who graduated from West Visayas State University. Son of a councilor in E.B. Magalona, his hometown, Marc has the makings of a future politician. Like Gesper, he too is great in making webpages and webdesigns. In fact, it was Marc who designed the first website of the College of Medicine. Marc is currently in love and when he falls in love he turns into a madman like a human turns into a lycan by the full moon.

Ken is no boy but the only girl in the so-called magic four. She graduated in U.P. with a degree in biology and took up her medicine proper in West Visayas State University. The most loquacious, you never get bored with this girl. While it may seem that she is already well settled with her boyfriend for many years (who is by the way left in Iloilo, an island just across our own), it cannot be denied that she had to struggle against the uninvited tensions between her and gesper. But both have made it clear. They are only friends.

And as for me, well, I am the only married man in the group and perhaps the natural equalizer in the magic four. I would like to think that I am perhaps the hodgepodge of the other three. If they were to splice their DNAs and make a new human being from those three, I guess that would be me.

The magic four has always been going strong despite the different backgrounds we had. It is in this obvious diversity that we thrive fully.
