Conflicts of Interest: A Simulation Workshop

I work part time as a faculty member of the University of Saint La Salle College of Medicine, under the Family and Community Medicine Department. During my 4 Saturdays of lectures, I was able to teach my students how to conduct situational analysis, problem prioritization and planning. I made them interview a family in our adopted community and identify problems, prioritize them and formulate a health plan for the family. During our last meeting, I designed a workshop that would somehow simulate the events happening in the actual community setting. The question now they needed to answer was: what happens if there is a conflict of plans? The problem sometimes is that a doctor might see a different problem and formulate a different plan for the patient. The patient sees at times a different problem as well, the one which the doctor may not even consider a problem.
