The Doctor To The Barrios

There are far better Doctors to the Barrios. There even far better Doctors. But I am grateful for this acknowledgement of the efforts we started. I must admit that for the past few days I have been feeling nostalgic about the yester-years, trying to assess and re-assess myself both in my professional life and personal life. I have always made a promise to myself, not to live a life with regrets. While there may be so many lessons learned and hindsight is always a 20/20 vision, still I have no regrets.

Here's a segment of TV 5's Ako Mismo when my work as a DTTB was featured 2 years ago.

Doctors to the Barrios forever.

kudos to all doctors to the barrios, that is really an act of service. =) let me share this "somewhere along the course of life, you learn about yourself and realize there should be no regret, only a lifelong appreciation of the choices you've made"

Hope there will be more people like you. People who are willing to sacrifice their easy and well-off life for the sake of those unfortunate kababayans living in barrios.

doc bien, i salute you for being of service to those who needs you most... yung mga tao sa liblib na lugar sa ating mga probinsya. di lahat ng doctor ay makakaisip ng malasakit na ganito sa kapwa, kundi ung iilan lamang na sinasapuso ang sinumpaang tungkulin sa bayan. i hope marami pang professionals, ang gumaya sa yo. not all things in this world is about the money... sometimes, we get the greatest satisfaction and happiness seeing our self accomplish something great by helping our fellowmen to make their lives better and gets recognition from their simple thanks and words of praises... maybe that's the greatest fulfillment any professional can have in their chosen careers. thank you for serving our fellow filipinos. may Yahweh bless you. http://trunklocker.blogspot.com/2012/01/holiday-for-2012-chinese-new-year.html
this is a laudable project started by the time of Dr. Javier who became a Senator whom I get to used to work in the Philippine Senate. Nice one and a good video too.
