Ransacked!

This morning, I came to my parents' place and found out that our store was ransacked. After so many years in the place, it is the first time that something like it happened to us. They told me that when they opened up the place, they noticed that the door to the store was wide open and the small latch for the store was destroyed. It was then that they realized that they have been robbed either late at night after they closed shop or during the wee hours of the morning. Initial inspection of the place led us to surmise that the suspects were probably an adult and a young kid. The spires on top of the gate, the only access they can have to get inside the store, were twisted enough to provide space for at least a thin adult to get in. The thought of another young child as a suspect was due to the fact that the small latch to the store was destroyed. The only person who can get through such a small hole is a child.

We immediately called our uncle who is a retired policeman and we were advised to log a report at the precinct. A few minutes later, our neighbors started to swarm around the "scene of the crime" and also voiced out their own "expert" opinion as to how the robbery probably took place. One elderly lady took me by the side and assured me that they would try to find out who did it. They already have their own suspects probably but as she told me, confrontation without evidence or even some sort of verbal confession would not work.

They took away at least 200 bucks worth of coins from the store and the computer shop annexed to the store. Since the theives probably could not locate the light switch, they could only grope through the darkness and were not therefore able to steal more than they could have had. Besides, the only way out was the same way in and it was small space up the gate, through the twisted spires.

It is really a pity that such a crime could still happen. What is more pathetic is the thought that knowing how much these thieves went through, they could only steal so little than they could have had.

So, we are now depending on "street intelligence" to get these scoundrels. But the chances perhaps of getting them caught is slim. Anybody can be a suspect. So, we are going to wait. Either these criminals are dumb and would start talking about what they did or some kid with lots of coins in his pockets would start bragging about it to his playmates as they play "tak-si".

Sorry to hear about the break in. I'd assume either napagtripan yang store nyo or desperate na yung person to get at least a bit of cash.. You never know, something better is coming your family's way.
