For The Local Positions
Congressman - Monico with 26000 votes against Novero's 25000, according to latest NAMFREL Quick Count at the Bishop's Palace Information Center as of 2:30 p.m. At the present Canvassing of the COMELEC at BAY Center, Novero leads at around 2200 votes against Monico with around 1500 votes as of 2:30 p.m. It wasn't expected that the congressional race would be as tight as this. Acccording to very reliable sources inside the Monico camp, based on the Election Returns they have received from COMELEC in all precincts, Monico will win by a slim margin of 1800 votes over Novero.
All contending political parties receive copies of the election returns, including NAMFREL which receives the "6th copy" of the Election Returns. NAMFREL Quick counts are based on the tallies reflected on the received "6th copy" E.R.'s. All E.R.'s should bear the same results and any anomalies in one of the E.R.'s for a particular precinct should raise questions to the validity of the votes to be canvassed.
Mayor - Incumbent Mayor Bing Leonardia leaves behind a wide margin of votes against closest contender former Mayor Joy Valdez. It is very clear that Mayor Bing will retain his position as Mayor.
Vice Mayor - Thaddy Sayson is neck to neck with contender Councilor Lyndon Caña, with Elmer Sy on a far 3rd place position. It is projected based on the recent trends and Election Returns that Thaddy Sayson will win Vice Mayor.
These however are NOT YET FINAL and canvassing is still ongoing as of this time at the BAY CENTER, Bacolod.
