For the local elections, NAMFREL has finished counting 94% of the total election returns or about 1101 E.R.'s and as of last night 9 p.m., Congressman Monico leads Renecito Novero by 1,224 votes. Mayor Bing, as previously mentioned, is leading in a very wide margin over Joy Valdez. Thaddy Sayson leads Lyndon CaƱa by about 4,000 votes in the vice-mayoralty race.
Just this afternoon, I went to the BAY Center to check up on things. Lakas-KAMPI, the political party of Congressman Monico, is up and about trying to protect the votes. According to the election returns of LAKAS, Monico will lead by a minimum of 1,400 votes. A list of all the precincts and the results of the E.R. is at hand and all votes canvassed per precinct are being tabulated and compared with the list if indeed there are discrepancies. So far there are none.
Compadre Nicky Boy will not make it in the top 12 councilors unfortunately.
Canvassing of votes is expected to take up 5 days.
This morning, during the break in the review, I hurried to RMC-MAB to have my pink form (clearance) signed by our consultants. I only had Dra. Amante for Pediatrics and Dr. Magno for Surgery. I had to run after Dr. Magno from the top floors of the MAB up to the corridor of RMC. Tomorrow, I am planning to accomplish my pink form including the Community Form.
