For All The Skeptics Out There!
I have just closed my 125-slide presentation for this Thursday. All it needs is some finishing touches like slide transitions and stuff. Now I can get into this blog and whip up some nice rant.
So, okay, Gabby told me earlier this morning how a doctor she was assisting at the OR started talking about the latest results of the Medical Board Exams. Last year's PGI at BOLMSH, the four of them, all passed the exams, making it a hundred percent for BOLMSH (perhaps for the first time? I don't know). Anyway, then this doctor started talking about the pioneer batch of the College of Medicine of USLS (who happens to be - us!) and how she said that we won't even make it pass 1% next year. "First graduates of La Salle? Hmp.. they will be zero percent!" she said and I am paraphrasing here. Gabby told me how she felt bad about it. Good thing that doctor had Gabby for her second assist. If I was the one holding the suction I would have dropped it on the floor, reached for the nearest scalpel and stab that B**** on the neck.
It seems so many of these doctors are not so enthusiastic about their outlook for us pioneer batch of USLS College of Medicine. So many do believe that we won't make it. Unfortunately, some of these unbelievers are even our teachers, members of the faculty of the College of Medicine. No names now but you know who you are, in case you are reading this, you sons and daughters of B******.
I believe in my batch! I believe that we will ALL make it. And even if we don't, someday we will ALL be great and competent doctors. No, wait. Perhaps even more ethical and well-grounded doctors. Having rotated as a PGI and even during my JIship exposed me to the worse and the best of this profession. I have seen doctors "stealing" patients from other doctors. I have seen doctors "overcharging" patients. Worse of all, I have seen insensitive, crafty and inconsiderate doctors, especially those towards their patient and the staff.
But then again, I have seen the best doctors as well; those who are sincerely industrious in their work, always thinking about the welfare of their patients. I have encountered doctors who also give a damn about their staff and interns, who would take that extra time to teach, like mentors of ancient histories. I believe my batch shall be like them. And I do pray that we will be like them. Not the other kind. Not that skeptical, maggot eaters who feed on the diseases of their patients.
And when that day comes, oh boy, they shall be eating, not only their words, but our S*** as well! Let this be a challenge to us all... and a warning to all skeptics.

P.S., I am not number 2 in my batch
you said, "Those you were expecting to make it passed the boards!"
Shall I cite to you the many people I know whom I EXPECTED to pass the boards BUT DID NOT make it? Never mind. I shall not embarass them here. Besides. It doesn't mean that if they didn't make it now they won't make it next time. I know of so many doctors who took the boards more than ONCE. And they turned out FINE.
you said, "Your batch wont even make it 20% . Plain and simple fact."
Again, this is not a statement of fact but rather a statement of opinion. And opinions, though respected in a democractic society, does not necessarily account itself to be a fact.
you said, "La Salle, Bacolod- 20%.! Ha! I think you will not even make it. You are expected to pass but you wont make it!
Again, another statement of opinion which I shall take as a personal challenge. At least, I take this challenge head on and do not hide myself under an anonymous name. Only cowards do.
you said," Eat your shit Dumb boy!The next time you scrub for me, ill be watching you!"
What makes you think I'd be scrubbing for you in the future? You must be presuming that I shall take up surgery and therefore be one of your future residents (and I am just assuming you are a surgeon or an OB resident of some sort). But then again, before I come to that, I must pass the boards right? And even if I do scrub for you someday, just make sure that you will be doing a nice job on your patient. It is scary to have it leaked out how a pathetic surgeon you are. And again I am just presuming here that you are indeed one. I have scrubbed for many doctors as JIs and PGIs and while it is expected that in our level we don't know shit, it is expected that at their level they should know their shit. But I have been witness to residents and even doctors who couldn't find their shit during their OR. And I have seen the best surgeons as well. So, don't be watching me during your OR. Rather, be mindful of your job. I, on the other hand, would just be assisting you. And again I am just making presumptions here that I would in the future.
you said,"You may be eating your own words! Come to think of it, I might be the one stabbing you with the scalpel!"
I think we both shall.
And not if I do you first.
you said,"You still have a long way to go!"
Of course. Like you do perhaps. Assuming that you are a resident or even a consultant. Once a person has taken the road of doctors, it is always and will be long. Even the brightest doctors of our times do not stop from studying. And who said we will? The board is just the first step to a long and painful journey. But I am optimistic that despite the hurdle of criticisms laid before me and my batch, we shall overcome it, through and by the grace of God.
you said, "Go fuck your wife! Its free!ha!"
At first I didn't want to respond to this but this just shows how a sad and pitiful creature you must be. I do hope you had a happy childhood and all of your Ericksonian conflicts already resolved. For judging by the way you write your arguments, it seems you have some developmental delay, probably in the emotional aspect.
thanks for the support. let that anonymous comment be a reminder to all of us how the pioneer batch of the University of Saint La Salle College of Medicine faced and hopefully will overcome the biggest challenge of their lives.
Musta na nyss? :-)
:p
just think of what he says as a challenge. your batch can make it! :D
